MUMBAI / PUNE: In a major push toward next-generation digital administration and paperless governance, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday launched several high-impact digital initiatives under the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, and Artificial Intelligence at the Sahyadri State Guest House in Mumbai.
Cabinet Minister Nitesh Rane and senior administrative dignitaries were present during the unveiling ceremony.
Key Digital Portals & Upgrades Launched
  1. ‘Maha Indus’ Portal (State Sovereign AI Ecosystem):
  2. Developed as a sovereign artificial intelligence workspace tailored specifically for the Government of Maharashtra. It provides localized, highly secure generative AI frameworks for predictive policy administration, automated summarization, and accelerated citizen service responses, all strictly adhering to Indian data sovereignty norms.
  3. Maha-DBT 2.0 (Direct Benefit Transfer):
  4. Integration of 36 distinct welfare and subsidy schemes directly onto the updated unified DBT infrastructure to plug leakages and guarantee zero middleman interference.
  5. Aaple Sarkar 2.0:
  6. Expansion of Maharashtra’s flagship Right to Services delivery platform with the integration of 77 new citizen services, allowing doorstep digital certification and civic clearances.
  7. MAITRI Portal (Single Window Clearance):
  8. Introduction of 13 critical trade and industrial services on the Maharashtra Industry, Trade and Investment Facilitation Cell to significantly improve Ease of Doing Business across manufacturing corridors, including the Pune-Pimpri-Chinchwad and Hinjewadi IT belts.

Adherence to Indian Cyber Laws & Digital Governance Standards
Addressing the launch, the Chief Minister underscored that all AI-driven automation deployed under the ‘Maha Indus’ banner strictly conforms to the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. The platforms implement zero-trust architecture, automated audit trails, and strict end-to-end data encryption protocols aligned with CERT-In and national cybersecurity guidelines to prevent unauthorized profiling or surveillance.
The transition to automated, AI-assisted verification ensures that citizens across urban metros, IT hubs, and rural tehsils receive public entitlements efficiently without delays.
