Pune, June 6, 2023: A fire broke out in the Brahma Skycity building in Dhanori-Kalwad road, Khese Park, Pune, on Tuesday evening. The fire reportedly started in a flat on the 12th floor of the building and quickly spread to other floors.
Three fire engines were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control after about an hour. However, the fire caused extensive damage to the building. No casualties have been reported so far.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.

The fire has caused panic among the residents of the building. Many residents have been evacuated from the building and are currently staying with their relatives and friends.
The fire department is still on the spot and is conducting cooling operations.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of high-rise buildings in Pune. The fire department has urged the residents of high-rise buildings to be vigilant and to take all necessary precautions to prevent fire accidents.

The fire department has also issued a safety advisory for high-rise buildings:
- Keep all electrical appliances in good working condition and repair any defects immediately.
- Do not overload electrical circuits.
- Do not use candles or other open flames in the kitchen.
- Keep a fire extinguisher in your home and know how to use it.
- Practice fire drills with your family regularly.
The fire department has also urged the residents of high-rise buildings to be aware of the fire alarm system and to evacuate the building immediately if a fire is detected.
