In a recent development, it has been reported that the long-pending yard remodeling project of the Pune railway station will commence during Diwali this year. The project, which has been under discussion for several years, is expected to be completed in 107 days.
According to sources in the railways, the Pune Division has requested the Railway Board to commence the project after monsoon season, as it requires meticulous planning at the micro level. However, due to various logistical factors, the project has been scheduled during the festive season of Diwali.

The yard remodeling project is a massive undertaking that will cause significant disruption to train services at the Pune railway station. At present, the station caters to around 150 trains daily, with half of them covering long distances.
