Pune Crime News: Crime in Pune has been on the rise in recent days, with incidents of kidnapping and extortion also increasing. In a recent incident, a woman was threatened and later extorted for a sum of Rs. 69 lakhs. The victim had borrowed money from a friend, who had demanded repayment after a few months. Despite paying for some time, the victim was unable to continue, and her friend began to threaten her.
The victim then sought help from her uncle, who is a police officer. He advised her to file a complaint, and after investigation, three suspects, identified as Shashikant Vasant Lonkar, Sushil Vasant Lonkar, and Uttam Shelke, were arrested for their involvement in the crime.
According to police reports, the victim had borrowed Rs. 1.7 lakhs from her friend, and after a few months, she was unable to continue with the payments. The friend demanded repayment and threatened her with violence. The victim later borrowed money from other sources to repay the friend, but the debt continued to pile up, eventually leading to the extortion of Rs. 69 lakhs.
The victim had filed a complaint with the police, and after investigation, the suspects were arrested. The police have warned people against borrowing money from unverified sources and advised them to take legal help if necessary. The suspects have been charged with kidnapping, extortion, and criminal intimidation, and will be brought to trial soon. The victim is relieved that justice has been served and hopes that such incidents will not happen to others.
